The swift intervention by the Nazif government to combat the avian flu virus has reassured Egyptians. It is presently essential that efforts exerted by both the government and the public be pooled towards containing the disease. New cases of the flu should be immediately reported.
The authorities are also called upon to uphold transparency in dealing with the crisis. This will encourage people to report cases and to take part in efforts to prevent the spread of the disease.
Meanwhile, the media is urged to raise people's awareness on ways of protection against the deadly virus. '
