WHO hails Egypt plans to combat bird flu
Chairman of the WHO hailed the Egyptian plan in combating the bird flu through transparency and honesty with all peoples, which helped curb the disease to a far extent and even encourage people to participate in means of protection.
Thus, Egypt has become an example to be followed by the developing countries. The WHO is recently working on studying the Egyptian plans and try to generalize it in all countries afflicted by this epidemic .
The WHO chairman clarified that the efforts exerted by the Egyptian president and government and the ministry of health have played a distinguished role in reducing the dangers of the disease at the first appearance.
The WHO, out of trust in the protective and therapeutic programmes , offers all its technical services to the Egyptian ministry of health seeking to eliminate the epidemic completely .
Among the successful protective programmes applied by Egypt in face of the epidemic, is restructuring of chicken industry, ban of poultry in houses and start of local; production of the protecting vaccination among birds. Also, the early discovery of the disease helped speedy recovery among Egyptians.
