On Wednesday 15/4/2009 the bird flu human infection No. 64 was confirmed. The infection was for Saedia Ahmed Abdel Lateef Hamed, aged 33 years, from Kaleen, Kafr el-Shiekh governorate. She showed symptoms of infection on 7/4/2009.

She was admitted to Kafr el-Shiekh Fever Hospital on 7/4/2009. She was suffering from high fever and cough after being exposed to dead birds suspected of being infected with bird flu.

She has been given the antiviral vaccine Tamiflu as soon as she was suspected of being infected with the disease. She is on the life-support system and her health condition is critical.
