As part of tightening anti-bird flu measures, Abdul Salam Al-Mahboub, the Minister of Local Development said the campaign will concentrate in the coming period on activating the law on fighting the disease as well as closing infected farms.
The measures will also include intensive control targeting markets and stores in addition to continuous inspections, he added.
The minister made the statements during a meeting of the Higher Committee for Combating Bird Flu that was attended by senior officials including the ministers of health, agriculture, environment as well as ten governors.
The meeting was held for following up the national plan for combating the avian flu and the monthly monitoring of the disease.
