On Wednesday 4/3/2009 the bird flu human infection No. 57 was confirmed. The case was for Abdullah Nagi Umran, three years old, from al-Ameriya, Zawyet Abdul Qader, Alexandria governorate.

The symptoms of the disease appeared on him on Tuesday 3/3/2009. He was admitted to the Fever hospital in Alexandria on the same day. He was suffering from high fever and cough after being exposed to dead birds suspected of being infected with bird flu.

He has been given the drug Tamiflu as soon as he was suspected of being infected with the disease and his condition is now stable.
