Bird flu death toll rises to 33

A 4-year-old kid died of bird flu in Bani Swief on Wednesday 24/3/2010, bringing the number of fatalities of the H5N1 virus to 33, Health Ministry said.

Egypt reports new bird flu death

Egypt reported on Thursday the 28th human bird flu death. A 20-year-old woman from Beni Sweif, Upper Egypt, was admitted to Abassiya Chest Hospital after suffering from respiratory problems.

Procedures to prevent circulation of live birds in winter

Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Ismail Khairat who is also the Spokesman for the National Committee to combat pandemic flu said on 22/10/2009 that the Committee headed by Eng. Maged George, the Minister of Environment discussed the application of operational procedures to reduce the risk of bird and swine flu during winter which is witnessing growing rates of infection.
