Human bird flu 22nd fatality in Egypt

A 30-year-old woman died of bird flu on Friday 11/4/2008, bringing the death toll of that virus to 22 since the virus first appeared in Egypt in February 2006.

National Committee for Combating Bird Flu: One human bird flu case detected in Menia during January, February

The reports discussed by the National Committee for Combating Bird Flu in its meeting chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ameen Abaza on 28/2/2008 mentioned that only one human bird flu case was detected since the beginning of the current year, and it is receiving treatment in Menya, as compared to 44 cases in 2007.

20 bird flu-infected human victim died

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the death of the 20th human bird flu-infected case on March 4, 2008.
The 25-year old woman entered Fayyom Fever Hospital then she was moved to el-Giza Chest Diseases Hospital while suffering high from temperature, slow respiration, lung inflammation and pain in the body after being in contact with bird flu-inflected birds and she received due treatment.
